The Lab is here to help student union leaders find useful starting points, make clearer decisions and carry work forward. These notes explain the scope of the current website and its free tools.
Practical guidance, applied to your situation
Resources are general educational and organizational planning material. They cannot account for every organization, province, governing document or situation. Check important decisions against your current bylaws, policies, agreements, source records and the authority of the people responsible. Obtain qualified legal, financial, employment or other professional advice when the situation requires it.
A completed worksheet is a planning aid. It does not itself authorize a decision, confirm legal compliance or guarantee an outcome. Fictional examples are labelled and do not describe an actual client or endorsement.
Using the free tools
You can use the free tools in your own student union work and adapt your completed notes to your team’s needs. Please credit the Lab when sharing an unmodified Lab resource and identify your own adaptations clearly. Linked or quoted third-party material remains subject to its own ownership and terms.
Tool entries stay in the open page until you download them. Save a copy before closing or refreshing. Store and share your completed records through your organization’s authorized systems. Do not include information you lack permission to use or disclose. See the privacy notice for details.
Services and membership
Crisis stabilization, consulting and membership are in development. Browsing this site, trying a tool or emailing Matthew does not book a service or create a consulting or membership agreement. Any engagement needs separately agreed scope, availability and terms. This website does not currently take payments or enroll members.
Urgent situations
The crisis-stabilization track concerns organizational disruption and continuity. This website and its email contact do not provide emergency response, counselling or on-call coverage. For an immediate threat to safety, use the appropriate emergency or campus response service.
Corrections and external links
Information and links can change. Check the date and original source before relying on a substantive claim. External services have their own policies and availability. If something is inaccurate, inaccessible or not working, contact Matthew with the page address and a brief description.
