Leadership Lab
The Lab / Other supports

A working partner for a particular moment

Your priorities.
The support that fits.

There is more than one way to move your student union’s work forward.

The Lab is our developing home for practical tools, learning and connection. Alongside it, we’re developing focused support for an idea you want to explore, a decision you want to prepare or a disruption you need to work through.

Choose a starting point

What would help
your team move forward?

You do not need to have a finished brief. Explore a route, then prepare a short note about the work you have in mind.

01 / Consulting

Give an idea room to grow

Explore the purpose, research and choices behind a priority. Prepare a decision, develop a workable plan or bring extra capacity to an agreed piece of work. Board engagement, parliamentary support and facilitated conversations can fit here too.

02 / Crisis stabilization

Navigate a disrupted chapter

Work through leadership changes, financial concerns, disputed decisions or conflict. Focus on a clearer picture, workable responsibilities and the next steps your organization can own, alongside specialist advice where needed.

03 / Free resources

Start with something you can use

Try eleven practical prompts for one unfinished priority. The Leadership Continuity Check and fictional sample Brief show how to connect a decision, a source and a next action. No account is required.

Knowledge for the movement

Help the whole
ecosystem learn.

Our developing research programme explores the experience of student leadership: wellbeing, learning, relationships, economic opportunity and what carries across terms.

Read the evidence
Start with published research and public organizational sources, with their context and limits intact.
Ask useful questions
Explore what helps people contribute, stay well and carry their experience into their next chapter.
Share knowledge people can use
Develop accessible evidence notes and practical insights for the student movement. No participant study is currently open for enrollment.

Which route fits?

Build capability.
Add capacity.

Lab membership is the developing route for recurring resources, learning and connection. Consulting is for a particular agreed piece of work; stabilization is for a disruption that needs a focused response. They complement one another and have separate scopes.
